I cannot say enough great things about Chicagoland Breastfeeding. Tracy came to my house within days of my arrival home from the hospital, and since then both she and Sheila have been an un-ending source of support and help through my 9 month (and counting!) breastfeeding journey. Via call or email, Sheila and Tracy both make themselves available at any time of the day and never seem bothered by my frequent questions. I can say without a doubt I would not have made it this long without the constant support of Chicagoland Breastfeeding. I recommend the company to all of my friends and will certainly be in touch when it’s time for our next baby!

Sheila is one of a kind. She has helped me in some many different ways! My son, Noah, was born 3 weeks early and spent some time in the NICU after delivery for jaundice and low glucose levels and Sheila was my saving grace. She gave me the tools to be a confident first time mom. Before I knew it, I was able to breastfeed and bond with my son in such a special way. Her techniques and knowledge were easy to understand and put into practice. She visited us at our apartment and spoke with my husband and I about the importance of a mother’s and father’s role. I often would call Sheila and ask “What do you think if I do it this way?” or “Can I eat this while breastfeeding?” or “Am I pumping enough milk” and the list goes on… I consider Sheila my second mother and I am so grateful that she came into our lives.
Not only was she qualified in breastfeeding know-how, but also in different parenting styles. Sheila is a whole person with a warm soul. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs help with breastfeeding, baby development and parenting practices. Simply being with Sheila you will feel that you are braver than you believe and stronger than you know.

Beth is an amazing person and a remarkable lactation consultant! I highly recommend her services to any mom who has made the decision to breast feed. She is very supportive, kind, and nurturing (she’s not a pusher). Beth supports you anyway she can no matter what your goals are with breast feeding or pumping. I took a breast feeding class at the hospital before I gave birth and I can’t remember one thing I learned in the class that helped me. Talking to Beth has given me more helpful information than I ever thought I needed to know! Beth worked with me to reach ALL of my breast feeding goals (including many challenges in the beginning, returning to work & pumping, weaning gently at 1 year, and even help with engorgement after the late miscarriage of my second baby) and helped me keep my sanity. Her knowledge is priceless! Beth is always available to you by text or email. She always responded promptly, and answered any question I had, about Breast feeding, babies in general, where to find mommy and me classes and even where to find stylish, comfortable, and affordable breast feeding attire! I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have found her. Don’t question yourself, just call, you will be glad you did!
I had such a rough time with latching in the beginning, and Tracy was so helpful and encouraging. She helped me every step of the way on my journey (latching issues, thrush, mastitis), and I couldn’t have done it without her guidance and encouragement. I would refer her to any and all of my friends and family! I am now nursing my daughter who is 9 months!

Beth is amazing. She has been the single most important “specialist” during the first few months of my son’s life. There is no way I would have been able to breastfeed my son without her help. My first few weeks of breastfeeding consisted of extreme pain, nightly marathon nursing sessions, and my baby unable to gain weight. The doctors and everyone around me were pushing formula, and I felt hopeless. As soon as I called Beth to help, she immediately came up with a plan to put me on a better path. As more and more issues arose and I felt like giving up, I would text or call Beth and she would always have an answer for my latest problem and words of encouragement to keep me going. She went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. She was always checking in with me, encouraging me, and helping me to be proactive. She even helped me transition back to work with amazing tips and tricks to ensure that my supply would not decrease. I can’t believe I am at the point where I can nurse my son, pain-free, and see that he is gaining weight. Beth is a miracle worker! I only wish I had her in the hospital from the moment my son was born so that I could have started my journey with her help right away. Beth is nonjudgmental, trustworthy, knowledgeable, compassionate, caring, and proactive. She is the perfect advocate for a struggling breastfeeding mother. I have her to thank for the wonderful nursing relationship I now have with my son. I am forever grateful for her help, guidance, and support!

I had a fantastic experience with Beth and just wanted to share. Beth was recommended to me from a friend and she worked with me as a lactation consultant in May 2014! I emailed her on a Monday afternoon when my milk came in and she arrived for our first session on Monday evening. She is such a kind, knowledgeable person! Being a first time Mom and not knowing what exactly was going on with my body, Beth normalized everything and I felt completely comfortable having her help me get my baby latched for nursing. She helped me with everything from engorged breasts to latching to a blocked duct. She also has a hospital grade baby scale and weighed little Brian before and after he nursed to see exactly how much milk he took in! She is so much more than an LC though! She cares about you and making sure that you are healthy and have good systems in place for you and the baby. She taught me how to pump and went through what life will be like when I return to work. She also helped me figure out my Ergo! She is punctual for appointments and responds to texts if you have a question! I would highly recommend Beth. I really needed her expertise to get through these first few weeks.

Dear Beth, I just wanted to thank you again for everything. I can’t tell you how many times I think of you in a given week. I think how thankful I am that you were able to help me breastfeed N&M as best as I could for as long as I could. Being able to nurse them was the best experience (a lot of hard work…but totally worth it!), so thank you again for that!

N&M, age 10 months, June 2014
After six weeks of sore, cracked, bruised nipples and throbbing pain in my breasts, I realized that if I wanted to meet my goal of breastfeeding for at least a year, I needed help! I contacted Beth, and she was able to come see my son and me right away. When she came, we did a weighted feeding where she assured me that my milk supply was good. As I fed my son, she showed me how to transition from a cross-cradle hold into a relaxed cradle position, which immediately took pain away from my back and wrist, made it less work to feed my son, and freed up my hands so I could play on my phone or even eat lunch while I fed him. Then she helped diagnose my son’s lip tie and referred me to a pediatric dentist where we could get it officially diagnosed and revised. I was skeptical at first that such a small piece of tissue on my son’s lip could cause me such pain, but after we got it fixed, my son immediately became a more efficient eater and the pain went away within a week’s time! We are now to six months of exclusively breastfeeding and going strong! Beth has also been available ever since to help me with any concerns and let me know information that could help me along the way! I am so appreciative of her guidance, and I would definitely recommend her to any mother struggling with breastfeeding! For us, having that consultation was worth every penny because it was the difference between success and failure!

Working with Beth has been one of the smartest decisions I’ve made since becoming a mom. Beth has been there for my daughter and me throughout our entire experience, providing expert knowledge, support, and tons of encouragement through all the ups and downs. Had it not been for Beth, I’m not sure we’d still be breastfeeding today, so for that I am extremely grateful!
